Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to some of your questions about our swim lessons.

Classes are scheduled weekly every month.

Before the 1st of each calendar month, we will confirm the schedule with you to ensure a smooth experience and to avoid charging for any weeks you won’t be attending or if the coach is on leave.

Coaches and Swim Q are not accountable for delays caused by the student. However, if the coach is late, the lesson will be extended to ensure the full duration is fulfilled. In cases where the student is late, the coach will try to make up the time and complete as much of the lesson as possible, if time permits.

Coaches and Swim Q are not liable for any death, injury, or damages that occur outside of scheduled lesson times.

There are usually no lessons on public holidays, but sessions may be arranged depending on coach availability.

Payment & Deposit Policy

  • A one-time refundable deposit of $50 is required upon enrolment. This deposit will be refunded upon termination of lessons with a minimum one-month notice.

  • Monthly lesson fees are due by the 1st of each calendar month and will be invoiced one week in advance.

  • If a student is unable to attend lessons in the upcoming month due to prior commitments, please inform us of the specific dates before the invoice is issued. Lessons falling on those dates will not be charged.

  • Lessons for the month will only commence upon receipt of full payment.

Exceptions in Payment

  • Absence of up to 4 consecutive weeks: No charges will apply for the month, and the student’s slot will be reserved.

  • Absence of 5 consecutive weeks or more: A 15% fee based on four lessons will be charged to retain the student’s slot.

Weather Policy (Using the “myENV” App by NEA):

  • Classes will proceed if there is light rain.

  • Classes will not proceed in the pool if there is heavy rain.

Monitoring Weather Conditions:

  • In the event of expected rain, coaches and parents will monitor the weather closely, especially within the 1-hour window leading up to class time, to decide whether the class should be cancelled.

If Class Has Already Started:

  • If the class is disrupted due to heavy rain or lightning, it will continue on dry, sheltered ground with child-friendly exercises that can aid in swimming, unless both coach and parent agree that the child or location is not suitable.

Make-up Arrangements:

  • If dry land activities are not conducted, the remaining class time will be made up by extending future lessons to cover the missed duration.

Class Cancellation

  • Minimum 2 hours’ notice is required for class cancellations (except for weather-related reasons).

Make-Up Arrangements

Paid missed classes cancelled due to illness, bad weather, or personal reasons:

  • Option 1: Schedule a make-up class with the original coach, subject to mutual availability (either on a separate date or by extending a future lesson).

  • Option 2: A class credit will be issued and carried forward to the following month to offset the lesson fee.

(Applicable to 45 mins semi -private lessons)
